Laws of Attraction Part VPhysical attributes, mental and physical strength, courage, and the ability to hunt and provide for a family are all factors in nature as to how the choice of a mate is made. The human world still applies most of these principles as well, but because our minds are much more developed than those other members of the animal kingdom, there are other factors that should be brought into play. We as humans, in modern society don't put much emphasis on being able to hunt and gather food in order to provide for our families, but we do put much emphasis on the ability to live to up to expectations and responsibilities. This is important to consider when choosing a mate. The level of responsibility that you want your mate to live up to will be determined by the expectations that you have for the life you want. If you want to live a life without financial worries, then you will need to find a mate with the financial potential to provide for that. If you are going to want to have children and a home, then you will need to choose a mate who will contribute the required responsibilities to help you fulfill that dream. If you want to live a life of adventure and fun, then you will need to choose a mate who shares the same desires. No matter which situation you choose, you are going to need to choose a mate who is going to be willing to contribute equally to your futures together. In the early stages of a relationship you may be content to not have a mate who shares your vision and will contribute to life equally, but over time this will start to weigh down the relationship and lead to unhappiness. It is true that sometimes opposites do attract, which is a situation that is discussed in greater detail in another article, but as general rule of thumb that relationships built on common interests have a better success rate. Choose a mate that has the same interests and has key values and morals that are the same as yours. This doesn't mean that you have to be identical for if you didn't have differences in your opinions what would you have conversations about? Likewise, if you do not share some common interests, what will you do for activities together? A shared vision of your future and how you are going to achieve that vision is the most important thing you should share. Attraction is how the relationship will start and the relationship will be built from that, but if you can't plan for your future together, the relationship will die a sure death. Don't under estimate the effort that you should make in choosing a mate. You should choose a mate that will fulfill your dreams as you will be spending your life together and spend that time with someone who is not appropriate can lead to a life of misery which can't be undone. |
