Laws of Attraction Part IIWhy is it that a man is attracted to particular woman, or a woman is attracted to a particular man? Why is it that one particular person seems to be irresistible to the opposite sex? Why do some people have the opportunity to have many dates with many different people? The science of attraction is at the heart of this situation and there are a number of different facets that need to be considered. At the heart of the process of selecting of a mate is the evolutionary need to continue the species. Survival of the fittest; in nature mates that were not strong enough to endure the elements would produce weak offspring who might not be able to survive the unforgiving environment they would be born into. This would only be the case, of course, if they themselves could live long enough to produce young. The weak members of the species would produce weak offspring so they would not be chosen as good mates because a species made up of weaklings would eventually become extinct. The reverse to the previous situation would be that strong mates would lead to the yielding of strong young. Battles among members of a species are usually natures way of determining who is strong and who is weak. The proven strong were most often chosen as mates to produce offspring and Mother Nature's circle of life would continue, with genetics making sure that the strong young were provided with the best opportunity to make a start in life. Individuals who are in the best physical shape usually receive the most attention from members of the opposite sex. It is all related back to survival of the fittest which is programmed into our being that the strong have the best chance for survival. Strength and survival of the fittest are not the only factors in the science of attraction. Pheromones also play a significant role. Pheromones are substance within the body that are produced and distributed through the air. Amazing sexual responses in animals are caused by these substances. Pheromones are thought to be like a chemical signal to perspective mates that offspring with strong immune systems are likely to occur with that individual. It was previously thought that the human species had evolved to not be attracted by another individual's pheromones, but recent studies have shown that this may not be true after all. This is still a theory that experiences great debate as there is not much scientific research available regarding what effect pheromones have on human attraction. The potential for an individual to produce strong offspring is still at the root of all scientific proof for explaining the attraction one human to another. Young will benefit from the role pheromones play in helping to combine two strong immune systems through breeding. Physical attraction will ensure that the young will have the best chance of physically surviving their environment so they can mature to adulthood. Survival of the fittest does appear to be the root of all things that human attraction is based upon and the scientific research seems to provide the necessary evidence to support this. |
